Week of 9-7 to 9-11-2015

It was great to almost put in a full week. Sixth graders will have read through chapter 8 of Huck Finn. Students area reading and listening to chapters and are learning how to annotate important passages. They will then use specifically-cited passages to support their analysis of the reading. Seventh graders have turned in their Wayyyy Beyyyond Description essays and are finishing their visual representation of the person and event that has formed who they have become. Eighth graders have started discussing the strengths and weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation. Next week they will take a quiz to find out what Founding Father they will become. They will then research and prepare to debate the five major issues facing the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia. Can anyone name the issues? Was slavery itself discussed as an issue? Have a great weekend.
