Mr. Shilhanek’s sixth grade LASS class is currently reading Dragonwings, an intriguing novel about an 8-year-old boy’s journey from China to meet and work with his father in America. Students are reading and annotating the novel in order to answer literature response questions. From those questions students will write a well-developed literary analysis, using specifically-cited passages in support of their ideas.
