Quest Academy’s Outdoor Ed. and This Week

The 6-7 Camp MacLean (Burlington, WI) Outdoor Ed. and 8th grade trip to Door County were huge successes. We are so proud of our Quest Academy students for embracing their experiences in nature and learning how valuable and vital nature is. It was also admirable to see how much they grew as individuals. Great job.

6th LASS students are entering the world of Reconstruction after the Civil War in order to understand issues that faced the country. They have learned how to analyze a primary source. Now they are reading and answering questions about Reconstruction. Soon students will try to remove Andrew Johnson from office after the House of Representatives impeach him. Questions: How many presidents have been impeached and how many presidents have been removed?

7th LASS students are reading History and Lifesections about ancient civilizations of Indus Valley, Ancient China and Egypt, and Mesopotamia. In seeing what the six elements that make a civilization, students will be highlighting the text and taking notes in various forms, a vitally important skill for high school and college.

8th LASS students are continuing to read and write about the political figures, philosophies, documents, and other sources help the United States create one of the most compelling political systems in the world. Most recently students have read and analyzed the Declaration of Independence, one of the most persuasive pieces of writing. In mid-October the eighth graders will convene a Constitutional Convention in order to fix major issues with the Articles of Confederation.
