Quest Shilhanek LASS Update

Hello everyone,
It has been a busy week for all LASS students.
8th LASS students are preparing to eliminate the Articles of Confederation. In order to do so, they will need to debate the issues of Representation and Direct Taxes, Separation of Powers, Forms of Representation, Interstate and Foreign Commerce, and the Election of the President, all in hopes of creating a Constitution. We are going to attempt to Periscope at least some of the Convention, which allows you to watch it live. Go to @KnightyReaders on Twitter and click on it. We will try to send remind message to you to let you know when it will happen.
7th LASS students are taking notes from the History and Lifetextbook in preparation for their first major test and for their upcoming projects, covering the six elements that make a civilization. For the Indus Valley reading (Chapter 2, Section 3), students are taking notes, using the Sketchnote approach #sketchnotearmy. Students are excited about the endless possibilities of creating their own method and look for their notes. Soon, I will post a stop-animation snapshot of the process, which should be a lot of fun to view.
6th LASS students are finishing up their readings about the Reconstruction era and are now starting to prepare for the Impeachment Trial of Andrew Johnson. This is an exciting simulation because students internally feel the struggle of ideas, emotions, and issues that faced the country immediately following the Civil War. Students also learn about the impeachment process spelled out in the Constitution.
